First Thing I Ate

What was the first thing you ate or drank today?
{2013} :: {2014}

First things first, omeprozale and water, followed by Raisin Bran, a breakfast shake, Cellcept, Domperidone, Zoloft, and Prednisone.

Same deliciousness, different day!

Pizza

My favorite pizza toppings are…
{2013} :: {2014}

I'm still good with plain toppings. Cheese, Ham, Pineapple (picked off of course), or cheese & mushrooms. I don't like a lot of stuff on top!

I Have Faith That...

I have faith that…

Everything will work out the way it's supposed to. I will be able to make it through life with this disease. I will be able to handle what trials are put in my way. I will learn the things I'm supposed to learn from this trial.

Today, Today

Today was…

Fine. I had a morning meeting, then I got to eat an orange roll. I have a weird pain in my back that shoots down to my knee. It's tolerable, so hopefully it just gotta away. But oh well. Good day anyway.

Pizza Pizza

My favorite pizza toppings are…

I think my favorite of all times is the Spinach Alfredo from Papa Johns. THE BEST. But I do like pepperoni and ham and pineapple, though I pick the pineapple off. Great, now I'm hungry...

Photo: Had a great Valentine's Day, Greg's birthday, and weekend seeing family in Wyoming. Miss you guys already.

Dinner Dinner

What did you have for dinner today?

Mmmmm, we had mashed potatoes, salmon, and artichoke hearts, and it was DELICIOUS. I even ate all that was on my plate. Yay me!! Super yummy.

Then to top it off, we got Coldstone. Yum!

Eating

How much did you eat today?

Probably not as much as I should. I get too busy and don't have time. I had breakfast, half a clementine, breakfast shake, egg salad sandwich and a leftover Cafe Rio taco. Plus desserts. The most important stuff. It seems like a lot...dang food.

Holiday Traditions

What is your favorite Christmas tradition? Did you do it this year?

We started this tradition the first year we were married, but we usually buy a new xbox game to play on Christmas Eve then stay up as late as we can playing. This year we played Halo4, and made it to midnight. We are awesome.

Then we have a big yummy dinner with just the two of us. Delicious. I love Christmas.

Fave Holiday Recipe

What is your favorite holiday recipe to cook?

I think I said crab dip last year, and I think I'm sticking with it. Or pecan pie. Yummy. I'm excited for Thanksgiving!

Photo: Month of Gratitude Day 23. Grateful for technology. I'm grateful for cell phones, iPads, kindles, tv, internet, etc. Technology is amazing and there are all many things you can do with it... including watching a seven hour broadcast of 1D Day on YouTube. (Okay, I didn't watch all 7 hours, but quite a bit of it). Its amazing that you can watch people hundreds of miles away over the internet. (That doesn't sound creepy). Grateful for the many forms of communication technology provides as well.

Sandwiches

What is your favorite sandwich and how must it be made so it's perfect?

Ugh. Can I just copy last year's answer? I'm not a huge sandwich person. I do like grilled cheese it tuna. Or Subway or Quiznos or Jimmy John's. That's about it.

Photo: Month of Gratitude Day 17. Grateful for the town I grew up in... for the lessons I learned playing sports... for great coaches and mentors who taught the value of hard work. I have never known harder workers than the people I grew up in Cokeville. This week the football team win its 21st state championship, and a few weeks ago the volleyball team won its 20. That's pretty awesome, and I'm grateful I could be part of such a strong tradition. (My dad, and head vb coach, is the handsome fellow in the orange shirt in the top pic...can't miss him. And little bro is somewhere I'm that God looking group of boys. I think I know which one is him, but they all kind of look alike). Thank you people of Cokeville for teaching me all you have.

From Scratch

What was the last meal you made from scratch?

I'm embarrassed to admit that is been a long time since I've made a meal from scratch. Greg has been doing all the cooking lately, and while I really do try to help, I'm probably less help than actually helpful. I think I could probably do more, I'm just slow when it comes to anything anymore.  But probably the last from scratch was either clam chowder or roast. We have some better at cooking more and eating out less. Go us!

Seasonal

What is your favorite seasonal thing you like to eat, and why?

Clam chowder. Because it's getting cold out and chowder is warm. Plus its about the only soup I know how to make. Its really nice on a nice cool day.

Last New Thing

What was the last new thing you tried?

Good question. I don't even know, to be honest with you. I guess the only thing I can think of is artichoke hearts. We had a jar of them for like 5 years because I was going to make a spinach-artichoke dip. Never did. Well, Greg finally opened them, and sauteed some in butter. I was a bit hesitant at first, mostly because they were so old, but they were delicious, and now we have them quite often. Good thing they're healthy...

Pizza

My favorite pizza toppings are...

See, here's the thing about pizza. I love pizza, but I'm kind of weird when it comes to toppings. I like cheese, I also like pepperoni or ham and pineapple, but I almost always pick of the toppings. I'll occasionally each some of them, but mostly pick them off. I get that I could just order plain ol' cheese, but it just doesn't taste the same. I love thin crust dominos ham and pineapple. Reminds me of Greg and Western. I also love Papa Johns. The best pizza ever. But yes, we order ham and mushrooms usually, and I pick off the toppings. Anything but meat lovers or any type of veggies. Those are harder to pick off the toppings, and the taste that lingers isn't so good.

Sunday Dinner

Growing up, I always looked forward to Sunday dinner. The actual eating, not the prepping. We always had roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, and when Teichert's introduced us to grated carrots, we never turned back. I was in charge of peeling the carrots, Brady grating them. We always fought about it too. (Let's face it, we fought about everything really.) Then when mom took the roast out, I always took a little piece from the edge (because it had the most flavor). When the gravy was made...I had to test it by dipping bread in it. It was a sad day when we didn't have bread (or just yucky wheat bread. Sorry mom!) It was delicious!

Now that I'm married, we have a similar tradition. We have roast nearly every Sunday, and it's my favorite meal of the week. (Mostly because I know I like it, and can actually eat it!) Today we had crock pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, mushrooms, and artichoke hearts (who knew they were so healthy!) Followed by no bake cookies for dessert. Yum!
